A GROUP OF JAPANESE INRO AND A WOOD TONKOTSU (TOBACCO CASE)**, EDO-MEIJI PERIOD (19TH CENTURY), the tobacco case carved as a pair of fish with their tails crossed, the cover formed by the two heads, fitted with a lacquered-wood bead ojime and an ivory netsuke carved as a flounder and a spray of flowers, signed Ransentei ; together with a tortoiseshell and woven bamboo inro, 19th century, the interior nashigi lacquer, with a wood netsuke of a turtle, the cord hole ringed with ivory; a wood single case inro, 19th century, carved with a traveler by a river kneeling to fill his gourd, signed Shoshinsai , fitted with a carved fruit nut ojime and a double-gourd netsuke with lacquer cherry blossoms and ivory stopper; and a single case red lacquered woven bamboo inro, 19th century, fitted with a wood bead ojime and a large wood netsuke of Handaka and consort, Handaka with an ivory horn 3 3/8in.
