Beschreibung:

This is a late third model with small brass trigger guard and backstrap. This was part of a group of Navy revolvers purchased for the United States Army in a batch between #49000-80750. It has several Army inspector stamped letters about the metal parts to include the M, L, S and C. The C can be found on commercial models but the L and M are Army inspector marks. The left side of the grip is stamped "MM" for Miles Moulton who was a civilian sub-inspector at the Hartford Colt plant only in 1857-58. The right grips has the inspector stamp of main military inspector William Thornton The case color frame has the small US stamp. Barrel has Hartford stamp. All numbers are matching to include wedge. The front sight is the scarce dove-tail blade. CONDITION: Incredible. The frame retains nearly all of the original case colors and most are still bright. Every single screw is true and most have the majority of their fire blue finish. There is still some nice color on the lever and traces of blue on the barrel but both are now basically a smooth patina. While the cylinder appears to be in the white with some toning, the Naval scene is near mint, solid 99.9% scene. The bore is razor sharp. Action is fine. Grips are near mint. This is one astoundingly nice Army purchased Navy. Name Value Accessories Barrel Length 7 - 1/2" Caliber/Bore .36 Rifled FFL Status Antique Manufacturer Colt Model 1851 Navy Paperwork Serial Number 77175
