A LARGE GROUP OF WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE WEAPONS AND TOOLS MAINLY 2ND-1ST MILLENNIUM B.C. Including a large adze-axe, the blades set at right angles, the shaft decorated with dotted chequerboard and herringbone pattern, 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) long; a pickaxe with rounded butt-plate strengthened with thick bar, 8 in. (20.2 cm.) long; an axe head with shaft surmounted with a ram, 6¼ in. (16 cm.) long; a flat lugged-axe with small lugs curving from the side to divide the blade from the butt, 6¾ in. (17 cm.) long; a mace head, the swollen upper body decorated with three rows of raised lozenges, 3¾ in. (9.5 cm.) high; and a lead mace head(?) with three large rounded protomes decorated in between with four standing ibex with curving horns, possibly Bactrian, late 3rd/early 2nd millennium B.C., 4¼ in.
