A LARGE JAPANESE PRINTED MAP OF TOKYO 19TH CENTURY Orientated to the West and printed on four sheets of paper, showing the old centre of Edo with the Imperial palace and the mouth of the river Sumida, with areas and details picked in red and blue and with a compass rose device, framed and glazed, 91cm x 64cm. The inscription in the lower left corner lists 'the eighteen most famous pine trees of Tokyo' with their locations and so this map was probably aimed at Japanese visitors sightseeing in the city.
