A LOUIS XVI JEWELLED ENAMELLED GOLD PRESENTATION SNUFF-BOX BY JEAN-JOSEPH BARRIÈRE (FL. 1763-1793), MARKED, PARIS, 1779/1780, WITH THE CHARGE AND DECHARGE MARKS OF JEAN-BAPTISTE FOUACHE 1775-1780 oval box, the cover later centred with an oval enamelled miniature of a nobleman, German School, circa 1700/1710, wearing a white wig and green coat below a jewelled crown, and applied with a silver sunburst ground design inset with circular and rose-cut diamonds, the cover, sides and base set with panels of translucent purple enamel on a guilloch é ground, the outer sabl é gold borders with turquoise, orange and white enamel pellets set amidst green enamel foliage 3 3/8 in.
