A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED BOIS SATINE, AMARANTH AND GREEN-STAINED MARQUETRY BUREAU PLAT WITH CARTONNIER STAMPED 'N GREVENICH' AND 'JME', CIRCA 1770 Inlaid overall with trellis parquetry, the rectangular green leather-lined top with eared corners and molded edge surmounted by the detachable cartonnier with five pigeon-holes and pierced three-quarter gallery, above three panelled frieze drawers, on square tapering legs with swag collar, husk-trailing and rope-twist angles terminaing in spiral ball feet, the ormolu feet later, replacements to the parquetry, stamped to left underside 39½ in. (100 cm.) high overall, 27¾ in. (70 cm.) high the bureau plat, 52 in. (132 cm.) wide, 28½ in. (72 cm.) deep
