A Maxwell Hemmens of York marine live steam plant, with twin cylinder 'Caton' vertical steam engine 3/8th inch stroke linked to a gas fired horizontal mahogany clad boiler and mounted on a wooden plinth.The engine is fitted with a displacement cylinder lubricator, reversing valve and regulator valve. Other fittings include stop valve, pressure gauge and sight glass. Original Maxwell Hemmens boiler test certificate dated 1-4-1991 No 64-90 213. Test pressure 125psi. Working pressure 60psi. The plant appears to have never been fired up. Length 36cm. Width 14cm.
