A needlework picture embroidered in coloured silks, metal threads, metal purl and chenille, with raised work and beadwork details, depicting Esther and Ahasuerus, the king with an attendant riding to a palace in the distance to one side, Haman on the gallows at the other, a pool with a fish, whale and swan in the foreground, the ground scattered with sequins and infilled with other various motifs, the borders with flowers, birds, animals and insects, a lion, stag, unicorn and leopard in each corner-- 22 x 16in.
