A Pair of Art Deco Platinum, Coral, Onyx and Diamond Earrings, consisting of hinged tapered platinum plaques containing calibre cut onyx and 36 old European and single cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.50 carat total, suspending orange-red coral drops with textured platinum endcaps, yellow gold clip backs. 5.80 dwts. Estimate $ 3,000-5,000 The earrings measure approximately 2 3/4 inches in length including ear wires. The earrings are in very good condition overall, all stones present and securely set, the metal surfaces have scattered superficial scratches at 10X magnification, the coral drops show very minimal wear consisting of superficial scratches visible at 10X magnification, the inset onyx and coral elements show no appreciable wear, the hinged backs are in good working order and may be of later addition. Gem Characteristics (graded in setting) Coral It is the opinion of the gemologist that the coral in these earrings has external characteristics consistent with natural coral that has not been color enhanced with dye. Diamonds Color: G-I Clarity: VS1-SI1 Cut: Good to Very Good Condition: no signs of wear at 10X magnification
