A pair of George II silver oil and vinegar cruets Mark of Paul de Lamerie London, 1747 Each frame with two circular holders, on four scroll feet, pierced with foliate scrolls and applied with flowers, foliage and shells, the cast grotesque mask handle with shell and foliage terminal, each with two cut-glass bottles each mounted with a silver collar with hinged rocaille cover and rose finial, with grotesque mask spout and foliate and rocaille handle, the frames each engraved twice with a crest with baron's coronet above, marked on base of frames 7½in. (9cm.) high The cruet-frames, 43oz. (1,355gr.) The crests are those of George, 1st Baron Anson, Admiral of the Fleet (1697-1762). (2)
