(2) The crest is that of George Pitt-Rivers, 4th Baron Rivers (1810-1866) who inherited the title in 1831 and died in 1866. From 1846-1856 Lord Rivers was Lieutenant Colonel of the Dorsetshire Yeomanry Cavalry and from 1856-1866 he was Lieutenant Colonel Commandant of the same regiment.
