A PAPIER MACHE BOOK BOX Persia, 18th/19th century 230 x 155 mm. Lacquered and polychrome box with a scene of a woman and three children with a servant bearing fruit on one side, and a woman negotiating with two men as five more look on on the other. Both scenes borderd with a black band painted with golden floral vines, the box cover with two hinges and a hook-and-eye closure. With minor wear to edges and small losses on back, the lower hinge detaching. Overall in good condition.
