One of the most important of Faden's magisterial series of large-format maps of the Revolutionary War battles, issued separately and in Faden's North American Atlas (London, 1777). It depicts an area running from Peekskill, Bear Mountain and the Croton River south to Fort Washington and the northern half of Manhattan; and from Bedford and Rye west to Totawa and Paramus, New Jersey. The engraved captions give particulars of various skirmishes, battles and lines of march, covering major military movements between 12 October to 28 November 1776, a period which included considerable offense actions by the British, culminating in the Battle of White Plains.
