A rare Steiff prototype replica Petsy bear, with brown tipped white mohair, blue plastic eyes, pink stitched nose, beige pads, squeaker, red ribbon, button and un-numbered yellow tag in ear and Goldilocks and the Three Bears chest tag -13in. (33cm.) high, mid 1980s - Provenance - sold at Christie's South Kensington 3 December 2002; a similar replica Petsy was made as a US limited edition in 1989-91, but of a larger size at 19¾in. (50cm.) (when this bear was originally sold it had a blank chest tag; there is glue remaining on the current tag, where a blank was probably stuck over it)
