Beschreibung:

A rectangular red and gilt tooled leather fitted case, initialed to the front M.M.L. for Melleiro Dits Meller, containing a gold and cornelian set brooch of panel shaped form, decorated with scrolled motifs to the border, initial engraved to the back, together with a circular red leather and gilt tooled case, containing a bronze medallion by Dieudonne 1825, the obverse detailed with the portrait of J Macdonald, Duc de Tarente looking left in full dress uniform, the reverse with a wreathed inscription. NB Mellerio confirms that the fitted case dates between 1830 and 1848 (based on the case details).
