Beschreibung:

A red cotton Meghwal marriage veil, with five pieces of shisha, and green embroidered borders, with sequins and beads hung at the base, (In-31); a womanÆs blouse front (choli), Rajput from Kutch, with yellow and white interlacing and large square shisha work, especially in the circular breast plates, (In-41). See Elson p.31; a manÆs wedding scarf (bukhari) from Bansali Mahajan caste of farmers from Saurashtra, (In-56). æThese were worn at weddings, under the chin and over the turban, when riding on a camel. They held the turban in place and secured the gold earrings, and then covered up the teeth before the weddingÆ; and a Kanebi boyÆs helmet, embroidered with Kanebi work in chain stitch, predominantly in pink, yellow and white, with motifs to include flowers, lotus, peacocks, parrots, and an elephant, (In-69). Brought back from India by my daughter Rosamund, 1982.
