A REGENCY GOLD-CASED POCKET CHRONOMETER Parkinson & Frodsham, No. 1801 The white enamel dial signed PARKINSON & FRODSHAM , Roman hour numerals, outer minutes chapter with Arabic five minute intermarkers, gold hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds dial (at VI) with blued steel hand, gilt full-plate movement, the top-plate inscribed Parkinson & Frodsham 1801 'Change Alley, LONDON , 18,000 count train, Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance with segmental heat compensation weights, flat blued steel balance spring, the outer coil pinned to a resilient steel stud in the format of a spring foot detent and separately secured on a gilt plinth mounted on the top-plate, spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, 18 ct. gold consular case hallmarked London, 1827/28 , casemaker's mark E.L. for Ebenezer Lowrie, in velvet-lined three-tier mahogany deck watch box, the top with inset bone ivory roundel (unsigned) 52 mm. dial diam.
