A REGENCY MAHOGANY LONGCASE REGULATOR OF MONTH DURATION JAMES PARLETT SADDLETON, KING'S LYNN; THE MOVEMENT ATTRIBUTED TO THWAITES & REED, NO. 6238; THE CASE BY T. N. LOWTHER. CIRCA 1819 CASE: ripple moulding to arched hood, arched trunk door and panelled plinth on double skirting, the seatboard stamped 'T. N. LOWTHER' DIAL: 10 in. wide shallow-arched silvered latched dial of regulator format with hour aperture and signed 'J. P. Saddleton Lynn', blued steel hands MOVEMENT: substantial shouldered plates joined by six vase pillars, maintaining power, end caps to high count train, wheels with six crossings and screwed collets, Graham-type deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets and beat adjustment, front plate punch numbered '6238' to front and to upper edge; mercury jar pendulum (jar lacking), painted brass weight 77½ in. (197 cm.) high; 17 in. (43 cm.) wide; 10¼ in. (26 cm.) deep
