From a Season sarcophagus of Asiatic columnar type, sculpted in high relief, preserving the head of a Season in three-quarter profile to the right, identified as Summer by the multiple wreaths of wheat in the wavy center-parted hair, the oval face with youthful features, with a mantle pulled up over the back of the head as a veil, a flaming fluted torch to the left, a small nude female figure flying above, a mantle over her right shoulder and falling at her side, a griffin in the upper left corner, the remains of a raking cornice and acroterion ornamented with acanthus to the left, architectural moldings behind the head including a foliate frieze, scrolls, dentils and egg-and-dart, the details deeply drilled 15 5/8 in. (39.6 cm) long
