Finely decorated in enamels and gilt with a variety of different genre scenes, the four rectangular panels around the body depicting: 1, A man fishing whilst children gather seashells; 2, Travellers resting at a teahouse, Mount Fuji looming in the distance; 3, A tea set with assorted implements and utensils, a bowl containing peaches in the foreground; 4, A group repertoire of takaramono (precious objects); the cover with a spring scene of townsmen and women at leisure beneath flowering wisteria, the thin borders with repeated shippo-tsunagi (linked-cash) and other seasonal flowerheads; signed on the base in gilt Dai Nihon Kyoto Tojiki Goshi Gaisha Ryozan with the Yasuda Company mark. 7.8cm x 8.2cm (3 1/16in x 3¼in).
