Interestingly though, the portrayal of natural movement that was so inherent in Helenistic sculpture, being a direct departure from the purer but more static forms of the Archaic and early Classical sculpture is less pronounced in the example offered here. Indeed, elements of the work here are more reminscent of the sculpture of those earlier, more formal periods
