A SET OF SIX REGENCY MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS CIRCA 1815 To include a pair of similar armchairs, each with a bar back, Together with a pair of further similar Regency dining chairs (8) Condition Report: Please note as per the cataloguing these are not a 'true' set but are a set of six and a further two chairs to make up eight. They are all upholstered to match All with marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use They all have a dry appearance overall and would benefit from a sympathetic clean and polish Old splits and cracks, some chips and losses - There have been numerous old repairs to the chairs, including old plugged repairs and splicing to the uprights where they meet the backs, some of these are better disguised than others. One armchair with an inset brace. The other armchair with screwed repair to one arm The upholstery is worn overall, and in 'tired' condition, it is a form of cut velvet with dramatic differences between the pile areas and the woven ground. this is obviously by design, there is some damage and lifting and loss to the decorative trims. One of the pair of similar chairs with large repair to one back, the other with signs of old bracing, both have old tack marks from previous upholstery There is looseness and wobble to joints overall, there are signs of old glue to the undersides, there are signs of old woodworm to rails and to other areas of the undersides Overall these chairs probably would benefit from some professional restoration overall including a reupholster Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
