A SET OF TWENTY-FOUR FRENCH SILVER-GILT DESSERT KNIVES** MARK OF FRANÇOIS-CHARLES-GAVET, PARIS, CIRCA 1820 The handles chased with bellflowers, together with: three Austrian knives, Mayerhoffer & Klinkosch , Vienna, 1858; one French knife, 1809-19, mark of CM ; an Austrian silver-gilt travelling cutlery set, mark of Tobias Mengetti, Vienna, circa 1829 , comprising a spoon, fork and knife with metal blade, the handles decorated with scrolls, monogram and crown, the fork chased Divoran , the fork and spoon engraved Andentien von dei Taufpathen, de 23 Nove 1829 , in a fitted leather box; a French silver-gilt travelling set, comprising: a table fork, dessert spoon, teaspoon, mark of Pierre-Benôit Lorillon, Paris, 1809-1819 , a dessert knife with silver gilt-blade and a cheese knife with steel blade, mark of M-G Biennais , 1809-1819, engraved with A with crown above, an ivory and ebony cannister, and a metal corkscrew, in a fitted leather case; three Austrian dessert spoons with peacock handles, engraved on reverse with monogram FJA , Mayerhoffer and Klinkosch, Vienna, 1858 (41)
