Imp. l e de Sevres mark and purple V.D. mark for the gilder Vandé , incised dv (?) and arrowhead datecode for 1803 Formed as a shallow basin painted to simulate purple porphry, the centre with a circular gilt band about a blue medallion applied with a relief gilt portrait of Napoleon in profile to the right and wearing the laurels of Victory, applied with richly gilt angular loop handles beneath the rim, on a waisted moulded circular foot edged with a gilt band (some minute areas of wear to enamels of interior) 9½ in. (24.2 cm.) wide
