Beschreibung:

A SIOUX BEADED AND QUILLED HIDE MAN’S WAR SHIRT AND LEGGINGS. The sides and verso of neck opening with hide tie laces. The shoulders, sleeves and bib of shirt with quilled, thread sewn strips in red, white and yellow geometric patterns and the leggings similarly decorated. The sides, waist, arms, neck of shirt and outseams of leggings with fringe and the shirt with a few hair locks and remnants of others. The outseams and cuffs of leggings with beaded borders both sinew and thread sewn and leggings with partial old collection label. Chest 40 inches, length (cuff to cuff) 57 inches, height (collar to waist) 31 inches, length of leggings 32 inches. Probably first quarter of 20th century.
