A thangka of Buddha Shakyamuni Tibet, 18th century The Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a multicolored lotus, his right hand in bhumisparsa mudra and his left in dhyana mudra cradling a begging bowl, clad in saffron and red robes, his peaceful face with golden skin backed by a green halo surrounded by a throne of elephants, snow lions, and further animals, with two attendants flanking an offering table below and lamas floating above Opaque pigments and gold on textile 33¾ x 21 in. (86 x 53.5 cm.)
