A valuable and representative collection mounted on album leaves, containing many scarce to rare items and including Baden with a good range of Arms types including 18kr. used (fine appearance though repaired), Bavaria with a strong section including 1849 1kr. grey-black (Plate I) unused, fine with large margins, without gum, later numeral types to 18kr., Arms type with 1870 perf. 11½, narrow wmk. 12kr. used on piece, light crease, signed Pfenninger, later issues fairly complete, Brunswick 1864 rouletted 16 1/3sgr., 2sgr. and 3sgr. used, minor faults and the last with rouletting improved, Bremen complete unused or used, many with repairs of other faults, Hanover fairly complete with 1861 10gr with part boxed d.s. in blue, slight thinning and other faults, signed Pfenninger, Heligoland with 1876 3pf. ( 5/8d.) 1st printing used, signed Engel, Oldenburg with 1852 1/3sgr. used, with small margins, signed Bühler, 1861 ¼gr. used, just cut-into at right, a good example of this rarity, signed Engel and Pfenninger, Saxony 1850 3pf. red (pale shade) used with part "LEIPZIG" d.s., clear margins on three sides, touched at foot, with heavy crease and trace of thinning at top, signed Proschold, Thurn and Taxis good unused and used representations, Wurttemburg 1851 18kr. used, fine appearance, faults, 1859 imperf. 18kr. used, good appearance, thinned, 1860-61 perf. 13½ 18kr. used, fine appearance, signed Bühler and 1873 70kr. red-lilac (Type II) used, fine appearance, small faults (Thoma certificate). Condition very variable.
