A VERY UNUSUAL FINE CASED GERMAN 28-BORE PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOL BY LOUIS ADAMI, BERLIN, CIRCA 1850-60 With heavy blued two-stage barrel with turned bulbous muzzle inlaid with gold bands, engraved with a band of foliage and fitted with a windage-adjustable fore-sight, swelling forward section engraved with sprays of scrollwork, some inlaid in gold, and substantial octagonal breech-section inlaid with gold lines, sprays of foliage and makers signature 'LOUIS ADAMI IN BERLIN', case-hardened scroll engraved breech with gold-inlaid borders, tang decorated en suite and signed 'DR. H. DULK' in gold and with adjustable rear-sight, floating sidelock decorated en suite (hammer repaired), large well figured walnut half-stock carved in relief with scrollwork on the fore-end and with fluted butt, case-hardened mounts decorated en suite including shaped pommel and pierced side-plate with foliage inhabited by a monster, set triggers, and much original finish throughout, in original close-fitted wooden case covered with burr veneer (some damage), containing most original accessories including loading-rod with brass guide, keys for adjusting the rear- and fore-sights, bullet-mould, pistol-flask (spring missing), loading-funnel with hinged adjustable powder-measure, iron cleaning rod with attachable worm and large separate brass ball, and iron multi-tool with retractable hinged arms, the exterior of the lid inlaid with brass and mother-of-pearl scrollwork and the owner's name 'DR. H. DULK' 13in. (33cm.) barrel
