A WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT CARD-TABLE LATE 17TH CENTURY The D-shaped 'book-matched' veneered top enclosed by later cross and feather-banding enclosing a green silk-velvet-lined playing-surface enclosed by cross-banding, above a frieze with two candle-stands and three small drawers, on six tapering octagonal legs, the rear two formed as gatelegs, joined by incurved stretchers, on ball feet, the gatelegs incised 'II' and 'III', the carcase inscribed in pencil 'W629', the feet probably original, restorations to the top 29½ in. (75 cm.) high; 32¼ in. (82 cm.) wide; 14 in. (35.5 cm.) deep
