Adriaen Collaert (c.1560 1618) Avium Vivae Icones (Hollstein 1405-1420) sixteen engravings, circa 1600, the first sixteen plates from the set of 32, lacking the title page, on laid paper, watermarks Cross of Lorraine with Letters C and Crown, unidentified countermark or none, very good impressions of these rare prints, mostly first state, plate 1 (Holl. 1420) second state (of four), plate 9 (Holl. 1412) only state, from the Second Edition (of five), published by the artist, Antwerp, circa 1600; together with Claes Jansz Visscher after Adriaen Collaert , Avium Vivae Icones (cf. Collaert Holl. 1421-1435), eighteen engravings, 1625, the complete set of copies of Collaert's additional 16 engravings, two others (unrecorded), and Visscher's title page, some with indistinct watermarks, good impressions; all with wide margins, previously bound and most sheets still attached at left, some staining, some pencil marks and minor foxing mostly in the margins, generally in good condition P. 131 x 191 mm., S. 240 x 176 mm.
