Full 18th century speckled calf with gilt coronets on spine. Title page lightly toned, else text clean, hinges repaired, boards rubbed, lower corners of boards chipped, overall an excellent example. First edition. The editio princeps of Aeschylus' oeuvre in the original Greek from the Aldine press. The manuscript that Asulanus used was defective, lacking the end of Agamemnon and the beginning of the Choephori, so that in this edition they are treated as one play under the title Agamemnon, among other errors.
