The Latin work was largely conceived by Joannes Bollandus (1596-1665). The Dutch prose was the work of L. Uwens; the verses are, for the larger part, written by A. Poirters. Engr. ill.: allegorical title by M. Natalis after A. van Diepenbeke, emblems by C. Galle within varying borders, each one with a caption in Latin & Dutch, and 1 full-page emblematical ill. (p. 702).
