(Botanique) -   - OEDER, Georg Christian.-   Aftegninger paa de planter, som voxe vildt i kongerigerne Danmark of Norge, i hertugdommene Slesvig of Holsteen, og i grevskaberne Oldenborg og Delmenhorst, til at oplyse der under title Flora Danica [...]. RISBENHAUN [I.E. KIOBENHAUN ?],  NICOLAUS  MÖLLER,   1766. In-f°; 180 plates (lightly yellowed, stains, small marginal tears and one hole at p. 3 of 2d part, some of them repaired, one folding pl. partly reinforced, pp. 5 and 7 inverted in 2d part). 19th Century binding : threequarter sheepskin, marbled paper boards, ribbed spine (used and rubbed, joints partly split, edges and corners very dulled, slightly trimmed with sometimes minimal lacks in the handwritten keys). FIRST EDITION of the first three parts of the "FLORA DANICA", a fundamental and monumental work by the German-Danish botanist and doctor Oeder (1728-1791). Illustrated with 180 etchings (3 foldings) of the plants, including bryophytes, lichens and fungi, from the lands of the Danish King which comprised then Denmark, Schleswig-Holstein, Oldenburg-Delmenhorst, Norway, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Preceded by a table of the plants names in Latin and Danish. An entire set of this botanical atlas contained 51 issues and 3 volumes of supplements and was published from 1766 until 1888. Title in Danish printed in black and red. # Pritzel 6798 (1st issue in Latin published at Copenhague); # Nissen, BBI, 2249 (ed. in German); # Great flower books, p. 124. Provenance : Daniel Hveding who added the Latin names of the plants on the plates (18th Cent. mention and monogram wax seal stamp). -- Édition originale des 3 premières livraisons de cet important ouvrage sur les plantes du Danemark. Illustré de 180 planches avec noms en latin ajoutés par une main de l'époque. Demi-veau à petits coins du 19e s. (lég. jauni, qqs déch. marg. -restaurées à qqs pl.-, rel. usée et frottée).
