Albrecht Dürer Joachim and Anna at the Golden Gate, from: The Life of the Virgin (B. 79; M., Holl. 191; S.M.S. 169) woodcut, 1504, watermark Shield with a Bend (M. 246), a good Meder d impression, after the Latin text edition of 1511, with 4-6 mm. margins on all sides, some very pale foxing, a tiny rustmark on the arch at centre, otherwise in very good, unpressed condition; with The Rejection of Joachim's Offering (B. 77; M., Holl. 189; S.M.S. 167) from the same series, woodcut, circa 1504, without watermark, a good impression from the Latin text edition of 1511, apparently before the gap in the lower borderline, with thread margins, a spot of solid printing ink in the upper right of the subject, a small red stain just below the chandelier, otherwise in very good condition B. 298 x 210 mm., S. 308 x 218 mm.
