[Giovanni Battista Albrizzi] Forestiere illuminato intorno le cose piu rare, e curiose, antiche, e moderne, della città di Venezia, e dell'isole circonvicine. Venice: Giovanni Battista Albrizzi, 1740 FIRST EDITION, 8vo (164 x 115mm.), engraved armorial frontispiece, title printed in red and black, double-page engraved view of Venice, 42 engraved plates (25 double-page), contemporary marbled boards, uncut, later slipcase, occasional light foxing First edition of Albrizzi's popular guide book to Venice, reprinted regularly through the eighteenth century (see also lot 72). The engravings were by Francesco Zucchi and Giuseppe Filosi (see also lots 180 and 181). The work is dedicated to Friedrich Christian crown prince of Saxony, who sojourned in Venice between December 1739 and June 1740.
