The ink drawings in this group comprise the complete drawings for "Puss in Boots", "The Dog's Dinner Party", "Tom Thumb" and "Grasshopper's Feast". The printed version was issued in octavo format, each tale comprising 8pp with wood-engraved image above text. The images were subsequently coloured by hand. Crowquill's original ink drawings throw up minor differences to the subsequent wood-engraved versions, notably expressive and detailed styling which was often lost in conversion onto the wood-block.
