Beschreibung:

American Aesthetic Movement Parcel Gilt and Marquetry Inlaid Walnut and Rosewood Center Table Attributed to Herter Brothers The shaped oval top decorated with various landscape scenes and foliate motifs, above a conforming foliate decorated frieze, on four fluted tapering columnar supports and a central standard on a pierced oval-shaped base, raised on short arched legs ending in stepped flat disk feet with casters. Height 29 inches, width 46 inches, depth 31 inches.
Some light scratching and abrasions to table top, including outer rim edge. Original gilt areas, such as the fluted recesses on the columns and the incised decorative motifs, including all the linear motifs, has been gold overpainted. Some of the flattened portions (caps) of the top and bottom of the columnar legs appear to have split and later re-attached or possibly replaced. A part of the decorative molded straight trim edge is missing along the side edge of the frieze, along the base, approximately 2 3/4 inches in length. Otherwise, table appears to be in good condition. There are four casters with wooden wheels, which accompany this table, presumably, the original casters.
