American Gothic Revival Carved and Stained Walnut Bedstead Mid 19th century The arched headboard carved with birds and foliage against a fabric back flanked by foliate carved columns joined by tracery molded rails, initials CDR carved into the headboard. Height 54 inches, width 50 inches, depth 7 feet 1 inch. It has been referenced that the carved initials are those of Cyrus Lawton and his marriage into the Davenport family from Wildcliff, Davenport Neck, New Rochell, New York, circa 1853.
