Contemporary blind-stamped pigskin. 12 x 8 inches (30 x 20 cm); [6], [iii]-ccxxxvii, [8] ff., collating a^(6) a^(4) b-z A-Q^(6) R^(4) S^(8) [lacking S8, blank]. Binding heavily worn, with a split in the pigskin at the spine, lacking the clasps and straps. Internally, title a little frayed at foot, contents slightly toned throughout but a sound copy. More than fifty pages of this work are given over to the Americas, with descriptions of the travels of Columbus, Vespucci and Cortes. The author was a religiously controversial figure, and this title was placed on the Index. This is the issue with the "fleiss vnnd arbeyt" reading on S7v.
