AN 18-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN WITH LEFT-HAND LOCK BY JOHN MANTON & SON, LONDON, SERIAL NO. 9008 FOR CIRCA 1823 Converted from flintlock, with two-stage sighted barrel signed 'JOHN MANTON & SON DOVER STREET', signed flat engraved lock, figured walnut half-stock, iron mounts (some replaced) including original serial numbered scrolled trigger-guard, silver escutcheon, and later brass-tipped ramrod (cleaned bright, some wear and pitting throughout), London proof marks; together with A 14-BORE PERCUSSION FOWLING-PIECE, SIGNED PARTRIDGE WARRANTED, MID-19TH CENTURY, with signed engraved back-action lock (restocked, iron parts lightly corroded and worn); A .65 NATIVE POLICE PERCUSSION SERVICE CARBINE, DATED '1857', the lock with 'VR' cypher and marked 'TOWER', the butt-plate marked 'RISALA 16'; and A .577/.450 MARTINI-HENRY VOLUNTEER CARBINE, CIRCA 1880, with contemporary black powder proof marks Respectively 30in.
