Lot details China, style of the Tang dynasty – dating from the late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to the Republic period (1912-1949). Supported on an oval foot, round body covered in feather with two wings, its human head linked to the bifurcated tail by a dragon-headed handle. The spout formed by the head of a mythical creature flanked by two snakes. The human form chased with jewelry and the body is decorated overall with feathers. Condition: Good condition with traces of wear and age, manufacturing flaws, rubbing to the gilt, small dents, and areas of malachite and azurite encrustations. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. Acquired in the Hong Kong antiques market in the early 1990s.
