An Arts and Crafts oak motto Bookcase, in the manner of Liberty, having a flat solid oak overhanging cornice above the frieze which has an applied motto reading "Judge Not a Book by The Cover.", with twin rectangular Liberty style leaded glass doors and hand beaten strap work hinges which open to reveal two adjustable shelves, the base having an open central section with three pierced heart shaped motifs, typical of Liberty's furniture of this period, unmarked, W 122 cm x H 170 cm x D 43 cm.
