An exhibition quality 7.25" gauge live steam coal fired model of the 0-6-0T Manx Northern Railway locomotive No.15 ’CALEDONIA’, built in 1996/97 by Great Northern Steam Company as one of a pair. The copper boiler with fittings including twin water sight-gauges, pressure gauge, safety, steam regulator and direction control lever. The chassis fitted with twin outside cylinders and inside Stephenson's valve gear, mechanical lubricator, twin injectors, whistle, cylinder drains and hand operated brake. The model finished in the green and black lined livery, carried at one time by the prototype locomotive. The locomotive having polished bright-work with fitted steps, hand irons, linkages, detailed rivet-work with name plate ‘Caledonia’ and the ‘Isle of Man Railway Company’ crest to side tanks. Length 160cm. Cab Width 43cm. Height 63cm. This model was displayed on the Isle of Man for many years until sold in 2015 and has subsequently been commissioned in to full working order. Boiler History: The locomotive has a current boiler certification supplied by commercial inspectors ‘Hawkins Inspections’. Full boiler certificate details will be made available to prospective purchasers at the auction room on view days and morning of sale. * The locomotives of the Isle of Man Railways were provided exclusively by Beyer, Peacock and Company of Manchester England between 1873 and 1926; other locomotives that appeared were inherited as part of the take-over of the Manx Northern Railway and the Foxdale Railway which happened in 1905 at which time the railway also purchased two more locomotives from Beyer, Peacock. All the steam locomotives have or had the 2-4-0T wheel arrangement, apart from 15 Caledonia which is an 0-6-0T.
