Beschreibung:

AN IMPORTANT DIAMOND SINGLE-STONE RING BY CARTIER The cushion-shaped diamond weighing 8.50 carats with tapered baguette-cut diamond single-stone shoulders to the plain hoop Signed by Cartier, No. R3689 With certificate GB9338 dated 10/11/1995 from The Gem Testing Laboratory of Great Britain stating that the diamond is D colour, Si2 clarity This charming stone almost certainly comes from the Golconda mines of India as it shows all the characteristics associated with these very special diamonds. It has an innate brilliance and transparency that is not evident in other diamonds and was probably found in the alluvial gravels of river banks or areas that once contained rivers that flowed thousands of years ago. The best known mines were at Kollur in the southern part of the kingdom of Golconda. It was in this region that some of the most famous diamonds have been found, including the Koh-i-Noor, the Regent, and the Tavernier Blue.
