An important gilt bronze figure of Buddha Kashmir school in Western Tibet, 10th/11th century Standing on a lotus base over a waisted openwork plinth, his right hand raised in the fear-abiding gesture and holding the tip of his robe in his left, wearing a tightly fitted robe with cascading concentric folds down the front and revealing the sensitively modelled limbs, his face with a benign expression with almond-shaped eyes beneath arched brows and tightly curled hair, the features, fingers and toes finely detailed 15 in.
