An important Napoleon III Neo-Egyptian ormolu and bronzed copper-mounted acajou mouchete bas d'armoire By Charles-Guillaume Diehl The mounts designed by Jean Brandely, The relief panel by Emile-Coriolan-Hippolyte Guillemin, Paris, Circa 1867 The white marble top above a rosette and foliate-cast panelled frieze divided by projecting corners inset with fan-shaped mounts and applied with hooks supporting heavy foliate-cast ring handles, the panelled door centred with a bas-relief panel raised with a figure of Juno, inscribed Emile Guillemin 1867 , below an ornate diadem and flanked by peacock feathers, the angles with pilaster uprights headed with acanthus and anthemion mounts and with recessed foliate-cast plaques to the base, the apron centred with a peacock with displayed feathers, on square-stepped feet, the door with bois de satine -veneered reverse, the interior with three adjustable shelves 59¾in. (151.8cm.) high; 47½in. (120.6cm.) wide; 22in. (56cm.) deep
