An interesting group of memorabilia relating to inter-allied wartime football collected by Private Trip playing for The Netherlands and Dutch Army football teams, comprising: a dinner menu dated 25.1.41 and signed on the reverse by the Norwegian Army team; a luncheon menu , two versions of the match programme and a Dutch magazine match report for the Netherlands v Belgium international played at Walthamstow Avenue 1.2.41; a single-sheet programme and a dinner menu for the Holland v Czechoslovakia Inter-Allied Match played at Coventry City 15.2.41, the programme signed by the Czech team; a Dutch magazine match report dated 8.3.41 for a Holland v Norway match; a programme for Norwich City v Dutch Army XI played at Carrow Road 5.4.41; a luncheon menu and a dinner menu at the Connaught Rooms 10th & 11th October for the Belgium v Holland match played at Wembley 11.10.41; a menu for the Queens Hotel, Birmingham, dated 25.10.41 signed by an unidentified wartime international team; a souvenir programme for a Dutch Army v Czechoslovak Army match played in England and dated 30.10.41 and signed by both teams in line-up formations; a menu for the Queens Hotel, Birmingham, dated 8.11.41 for the Holland v Poland international signed on the reverse by the Polish team; a printed diploma presented to Trip for his appearance for the Dutch team v the Norwegians in the Inter-Allied Services Cup Competition football match played at Palmerston Park, Dumfries, 20.12.41; a match programme, an unused ticket and a French team-signed menu for the France v Holland match played at Brentford 18.4.42; a luncheon menu for the Connaught Rooms dated 14.1.44 for the Holland v Belgium international together with an invitation from the Lord Mayor for a luncheon at Mansion House for both teams on 17.1.44; a match programme for the Royal Netherlands Forces v RAF played at West Ham 26.2.44; an unused match ticket for the France; the lot also including a pre-war dinner menu for the West Riding County F.A. v East Riding County F.A. at Bridlington 25.9.37 (Trip playing for Beverley White Star at the time), a Royal Netherlands Brigade Xmas dinner menu bearing a few signatures; a group of 8 badges and medals presented to Trip (some cased), his Rotary wristwatch and an American gold coin mounted on a clip fitting (a qty.)
