An mid-19th Century model of a beam engine and horizontal live steam boiler, constructed mainly in brass with steel beam, crankshaft and rods, the cylinder ½ inch bore by 1 inch stroke, double acting and reversed by a handle beside the cylinder, steam supplied by a Cornish type boiler mounted beside the engine, the centre-flue boiler with silver soldered brass ends, the whole steam plant mounted on wood base with glazed oak show case which is believed to have been made in 1931 when the model was restored.
