Lot Description: An Unusual and Well-Conceived, Probably Late 19th Century Pheasant Feather Fixed Fan or Face Screen , the handle of turned wood in itself shaped at the shoulder like a fan, holding the quills. The quills are crossed as if in basket-weave, the long feathers form a central point and then taper in at the sides, and the central body of the screen is designed with layers of brown, to multi-colour, to orange, as they meet the centre. The verso follows a similar form but with different colour configuration. Overall height approx. 18 inches or 46 cm by 12 inches or 30.5cm Condition Report: . Well designed, handle sound.
