ANGLO-SAXON BRONZE CRUCIFORM BROOCH PAIR 6th century AD A pair of cruciform bow brooches comprising: one of Group IVa with rectangular headplate, three integral D-section collared knops, deep bow with chamfered ends, short footplate with lappets (one absent), horse-head with broad trefoil finial; one of Group IVaiii with broad rectangular headplate and raised trapezoidal panel with punched crescent detailing, integral D-section knop above, applied collared knops to the sides, shallow bow with chamfered ends, broad footplate with bird-head lappets, small horse-head with spade-shaped finial. 138 grams total, 12.5-13.5cm (5 - 5 1/4").
